Dimetix EDS laser distance sensor

NEW PRODUCT

The Dimetix EDS-C laser distance sensor is an entry level versatile non-contact measurement tool. Like the DLS laser, this sensor detects objects both near and far in a rugged package, but at a lower cost and in a more compact package. The EDS-C is capable of measuring distances from 0.05 to 30 meters within an accuracy of 3 millimeters. This laser range finder measures distance, level and size without contact.

Application: Roll measurement in paper mill
DLS-B laser sensors are often used in the paper industry to measure the diameter and width of paper rolls after they are cut. A single Dimetix DLS-B laser can be used to measure diameter from overhead and a pair of opposed lasers can be used to measure width. The laser spot size is large enough to minimize the telescoping effect sometime seen with paper rolls. The laser distance sensors can be connected to a PC or PLC for process monitoring.
